Ukraine finished third for CS:GO, a game developed by Valve and Hidden Path Entertainment. It is North Macedonia’s second victory in recent months against Romania, after beating their opponents in the European Nations Cup event held in September.
Victory was sealed on the Mirage map, where North Macedonia outscored their rivals 16-11 to secure a 2-0 win overall. North Macedonia triumphed by 16 rounds of 10 to take a 1-0 lead in the final. The best-of-three final began with teams competing on the Inferno map. Known as "CacaNito", "aidKiT", "kyxsan", "stYleEeZ" and "FODOR", the North Macedonia team faced Romanian opposition, who had vocal support in the venue, in the final. Their five-member team of Aleksandar Ќulukoski, Jane Apostoloski, Damjan Stoilkovski, Kristijan Popovski and Pavle Stojanovski secured a 2-1 victory to reach the final of the multiplayer first-person shooter event. The North Macedonian team lost to Romania in yesterday’s semi-finals, but had the opportunity of a rematch by playing Ukraine in the repechage.
